  An excellent art gallery. Only issue? It opens to public only for half a day on Saturday.

  The entrance is at Via della Pilotta. We entered into the Church of the 12 Apostles by mistake ;)

  An amazing place to visit, it is private though, so it means it is only open on Saturday mornings. Part of the palace is inhabited by the Colonna family. This place is marvelous. So much history inside, and so many paintings from important artists. It will take the whole morning to visit it all.

  If you love art, magnificent Palazzo and history then you'll fall in love with this place. It's truly grand in scope and contains paintings, furniture, tapestries, sculpture and more. When you enter they give you a listing of all of the paintings in each room. It's a little awkward to use and, only in a brief section in the back, does it discuss some of the other works. We took our time and saw everything. Afterwards we joined one of the free tours (they have them in many languages). The tour guide was wonderful and filled in a lot of the backstories we were longing to hear. There are many old master paintings including Caravaggio, Rubens and Titian. The great hall rivals Versailles in its opulence. There's also an optional tour (for an additional price) to see some of the private apartments. We may go back and see them later. This is a must see. It's only open on Saturdays.

  What a gorgeous area to stroll thru and enjoy. Our tour was accidentally cancelled and we ended up here just moving at our pace and enjoying the beautiful buildings, trees, fountain, restaurants and totally becoming part of this beautiful scene ourselves. Stopping in one of the restaurants for lunch and just relaxing.
